Get To Know Your Hygienists
Catie (pictured above 2nd left) is a Registered Dental Hygienist from outside of Boston, MA. She graduated with her B.S. from the University of Bridgeport, CT and is currently pursuing her Masters in Public Health at Des Moines University. She has been with Briarwood Dental for three years and loves working with her patients to inspire excellent oral and overall health. Outside of the office, Catie enjoys traveling with her husband, and playing with her two cats, Oscar and Darla.
Melissa (pictured above center right) grew up in Carroll, IA before moving to Ankeny for dental hygiene school. She graduated in 2008 from DMACC with her AAS in Dental Hygiene. Melissa is currently pursuing her B.S. in Dental Hygiene from Wichita State University. Recently, Melissa began working as an adjunct clinical instructor at the DMACC dental hygiene clinic. She has been with Briarwood Dental for nine years.
Melissa loves building relationships with her patients and educating them on optimal oral health. Outside the office, Melissa and her husband Jason reside in Ankeny with their two kids, Blake and Cora . Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling when possible, and watching her kids at sports and activities.

Clair (pictured above far left) is the newest member of our team but has been a dental assistant for over 13 years! Clair lives in Ankeny with her husband, four children, three dogs, two guinea pigs and fish (a mini-zoo, she says, but she wouldn’t have it any other way!). She enjoys spending time with her family, camping, a clean house, HGTV and adding projects to her husband’s to-do list.
Lindsey (pictured above 2nd right) is a Registered Dental Assistant originally from Bondurant, IA. She recently completed the Level II Expanded Functions assisting course at the University of Iowa. She is now one of few assistants in the state credentialed to perform additional duties including placing fillings.
Her skill and chairside manner always put patients at ease. Lindsey loves creating a positive atmosphere in the office while providing the utmost care for children and adults. In her free time, Lindsey loves golfing, biking, antiquing, hanging out with her nieces and nephews, and brainstorming for the next office prank.
Chris (pictured above far right) is Briarwood Dental’s Office Manager. Chris graduated from Iowa State in 2005 and has been a member of our team for the last 3 years. Chris is a self-proclaimed board game geek, an avid reader, and a die-hard Cyclone fan.
